The Guesthouse Kazakos is an important example of traditional architecture, it was built in 1851 and in 1914 it belonged to Spyros Kazakos who had a grocery store on the ground floor of the house and a residence on the floors.
As a guesthouse it was reconstructed and restored by the E.O.T. in 1993 with a special aesthetic. The stone and wood which dominate the interiors give the visitor a sense of yesterday, which is very important to people of today.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that our hostel is only a 3 minute (100 m) walk from the center of the market where there are restaurants with traditional food, shops with folk art and city services. Arriving in the centre on the right is the pharmacy, the health centre, the taverns and on the left the post office, the police and the bank.
In the building there is a portico which served the entrance to the building from the street without using the entrance from the church square.
Dimitsana has been declared a preserved traditional settlement and is one of the most beautiful parts of the Peloponnese, with a view of the open lowland of Megalopolis, the stunning gorge and the valley of Lucius river and up to the snowy top of Taigetos mountain.
